FAMILY
Today's little moments become tomorrow's precious memories.
Families come in all shapes and sizes, related by birth, marriage, or friendship. As parents, it is easy to fall into the habit of just photographing the kids. But it is the family pictures your children will cherish the most when they are older—seeing the family as a whole and not just themselves. I strive to make everyone in the family comfortable during family portraits. I will capture your family as they are. If that is quiet or crazy, I will bring out the best in your family.
Personalized Portrait Session
I am fortunate to have photographed hundreds of families over 15 years as a professional photographer. No two are the same, though I find many similarities - love, laughter, and happiness. I strive to create a custom session for each family. I work with your kids and their personalities to create the portraits your heart desires. I prefer to have a consultation in person to meet you and your family before the portrait session. This allows me to build a relationship with kids before I ask them to smile and pose in what seems like odd positions. If you cannot come to the studio, we can chat on the phone or at a Zoom meeting, whichever is better for you. I also will utilize the family questionnaire to learn more about what interests your children.
Imagine a world where photographs were not only passed through generations but if they were breathtaking for those generations to come? A world where a great-granddaughter can hold a flawless photo of her family member, long since passed, and see that she has their eyes, smile, or the same hair.
Photographs do so much more than uniquely present a current and precious time. They bridge the gap in time for families and pull them all close, where they belong.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How do we pick location?
-
I have many locations where I have taken families over the years. And I love going to new places as well. Choosing your site is something we will talk about during your consultation. I will suggest locations that fit your family, session time, and season. If you want to try something new or something you have seen, I will scout the area and send you pictures.
- Can I bring my dog?
-
I love dogs, and I am a dog person! Here are a couple of things to consider. How old are your kids? If you have multiple kids under five years old, you will probably spend a good deal of time hands-on with keeping your kids under control. So this might not be the best time to add another "child" to the chaos.
Is your dog friendly? People-friendly is a must. But another factor, will the location have a lot of other dogs? Will your dog be distracted by other pups? Is a new place too exciting? It is important to remember that your dog is a being as well (not an accessory). Still not sure about bringing your dog? Let's talk about it.
- Can my sister bring her family also?
-
There is a $50 additional family cost. This covers the extra time for additional poses.
